Full-time Housing Case Worker
Action Toward Independence, Inc. (ATI) is seeking a full-time Housing Case Worker.
The Caseworker is responsible for assisting individuals to prevent or rapidly exit homelessness and maintain stable housing. The services are guided by a Housing First approach, and include individualized, person-centered support plans for each household. This position includes outreach, working directly with individuals and families in various stages of housing re-location.
ATI is an Independent Living Center that provides services to people with disabilities, primarily in Orange and Sullivan Counties within the State of New York. ATI promotes the independence, inclusion, participation and personal choice of individuals with disabilities.
This position will be working collaboratively with other non-profit organizations in Sullivan County under funding through the NYS Office of Temporary Disability Assistance (OTDA).
The appropriate candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-years equivalent experience; OR appropriate combination of skills, experience and education. Additionally, the candidate must have the capacity to respond to crisis situations, strong organizational and time management skills, the ability to build, foster and enhance relationships with SC DSS, local landlords and other Human Service Agencies. Additionally, the candidate must possess the ability to effectively work with diverse populations in a non-judgmental way. The right candidate must be proficient in computer skills and various program applications. Ability and willingness to travel to provide services is a must. Bi-lingual and Veteran or Service Member a plus.

Full-time Veteran Peer Advocate
Action Toward Independence, Inc. (ATI) is seeking a full-time Veteran Peer
Advocate. A Veteran Peer Advocate provides outreach and information to
Veterans and Service Members with disabilities in New York State. This position
serves as a positive example and will assist Veterans and their family members in
achieving successful reintegration and wellness while home or post separation
from active duty.
ATI is an Independent Living Center that provides services to people with
disabilities, primarily in Orange and Sullivan Counties within the State of New
York. ATI promotes the independence, inclusion, participation and personal choice
of individuals with disabilities.
The appropriate candidate must be a Veteran with an Honorable Discharge from
any Branch of Service or currently serving National Guard or Reserve Member.
The candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to disability rights and the
philosophy of independent living. The right candidate will have knowledge of the
Mental Health Field and PTSD. Personal experience with disability and familiarity
with ADA / ADAAA and independent living field is a plus. Ability and willingness to
travel is a must.
