Parenting Classes
"Active Parenting Now" Parenting classes for parents of children ages 5-18. The six-week class utilizes discussion and multimedia presentations to teach parents to protect and prepare their children to survive and thrive in the society in which THEY live.
This 12-hour class is appropriate for parents with or without a disability or who have a child/children with or without a disability. Our classes will meet both Family Court and CPS mandates.
Life Skills
Development and enhancement of Independent Living Skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, job readiness, and more. Students utilize positive Social Skills that they learn and develop to help transition them into becoming independent adults.
Funding is provided by OPWDD. There is no cost to the student or family of students on the Autism Spectrum who receive or are eligible to receive OPWDD services.
Educational Advocacy
Our advocates can accompany you to CSE, CPSE, or 504 meetings to ensure understanding of your child's educational plan. We help ensure your concerns are addressed. We can help link you to other programs and community supports.
Parents for Parents
Parents for Parents is designed to support and empower families raising children with emotional, behavioral challenges, learning disabilities, or Autism.
Program facilitators share their knowledge and lived experiences to help families cope and understand the challenges that they face. We provide safe, supervised fun activities for the children to participate in while the parents meet.

A Warm Musical Hug
Early childhood therapeutic music therapy/parent support for ages infant through preschool and their parents will enjoy developmentally enhancing music activities for the first half of the group. The second half of the group focuses on verbally, as well as musically, supporting Caregivers as each group member shares the greatest thing our child is currently doing and individual suggestions of musical activities to encourage the next developmental stage (always in a fun, playful, non-judgmental way). Ask about our free instrument offerings.
An adult is required to attend and internet access and Zoom are required to participate.
Social Skills
For children attending Sullivan County Schools, our Family and Youth advocates coordinate parent-child training for Elementary and Middle School students with High Functioning Autism, PDD-NOS, or Asperger's Syndrome.
Groups are focused on developing and strengthening age-appropriate social skills as well as providing parents and caregivers guidance on helping students carry over these skills in the home and academic settings.
